Cocktail bars that you want to visit in Copenhagen

So it’s always hard to find the right bars when you’re new to a city. Copenhagen has a lot of nice places to drink natural wine or cheap beer, but what if you’re looking for a place to bring a date, a good friend or you just wanna have a very good cocktail? These are my best recommendations.

bird - Gammel Kongevej 102, Bird is a pretty newly opened listening bar (they have a million of vinyls and a good sound system) where you can have cocktails with ingredients such as bell pepper infused alcohol, dill and strawberries and other awesome and probably more odd and creative flavour combinations. I love them for that. The interior is very minimal and you can have a good conversation without needing to scream, even though they do have DJ:s most of the nights.

Ruby - Nybrogade 10, A more established cocktail bar with a more retro and classic cocktail bar vibe. We got to know one of their newest bartenders, Oksana, when she worked at Apollo and we moved with her. Very good cocktails, not super out there but still creative. Lot of men in suits, but still a cozy vibe.

Balderdash - Valkendorfsgade 11, I feel I kind of have to mention Balderdash because it’s a cocktail bar that really wants to be out there. It’s totally good and all, but my experience was that the menu looked more weird and fun than it actually tasted like, if that makes sense. The menu has things such as dried deer heart and that kind of deal. A fun bar to visit if you’re touristing.

Donda - Strandgade 20, One of our favourite restaurants also has great cocktails. Obviously more of a restaurant than a bar, but you can reserve a spot at the bar for drinks and snacks. Try the Smokey Mango Margarita, it’s very very good.
