As always, when talking about sustainability and responsible clothing, it’s crucial that we take production into account and not only focus on the materials. You want to make sure you’re buying clothes that are made under fair circumstances, in safe factories, where the workers are receiving fair wages.

The Swedish female-owned swimwear brand Tumla focuses on creating timeless pieces for women that are comfortable to wear when you’re active in the water. The bikinis are sold so you can mix and match and choose bikinis that you can mix and match depending on what colour and coverage you prefer, an elegant swimsuit, as well as a surfsuit. The colours are earthy, the designs are sleek and simple. Their products are produced in Portugal, made from Econyl.

Run by two sisters in southern Sweden, G.A.L. (Green Active Lifestyle) offers both swimwear and activewear such as leggings and tops. Their focus is to be size-inclusive, and you can reach out to them to get adjustments. All of their production happens in Sweden, and their products are made from Econyl.

Swedish brand who’s been dedicated to producing ethical fashion for very a long time. If you’re into colourful prints, bright colours, this is a brand you wanna check out, as that’s their signature - although they do also offer swimsuits and bikinis in neutral colours as well. They use recycled PET.

Underprotection is a Danish lingerie brand that makes beautiful, very feminine and sexy underwear. They also make a few swimwear that go in the same type of feminine style, made from recycled polyester.

I’ve always loved CDLP’s aesthetic. Started off as a funky men’s brand but is now offering super nice swimwear styles for both men and women. Swedish brand. Made in Portugal, the materials are a mix of Econyl and elastane.
