Copenhagen has a lot of yoga studios, and lately pilates studios have started to pop up as well. Here's a list with some that you might like. (A lil discount awaits at the bottom.)
Rive Gauche, Ahlefeldtsgade 16, Indre By
Located in the very city center, close to the market Torvehallerne, Rive Gauche offers a completely different yoga experience from a lot of studios. Prepare to have your senses challenged. The classes are taught in darkness with a dim blue light to offer some vision. Paired with a curated playlist with non-traditional “yoga music”, but rather rap, soul and electro, the practices gives you a sense of existing in your own little bubble. I tried Dynamic flow, which truly was a dynamic flow; seamless, challenging and sweaty. Rive Gauche offers a body and mind experience.
The studio has showers and offers shampoo, body wash and towels and some other products, which really adds the cherry on top after a fun class. Enjoy tea and a little snack in the lounge, before you move out into the world.

Iluma Yoga, Ingemannsvej 3C, Frederiksberg
After having seen some of my favourite teachers teach at and talk about Iluma I knew I wanted to visit it. Iluma is located inside a little yard in a residential neighbourhood - I got a little lost trying to find it the first time (enter through a tunnel on Ingemannsvej 3A), but coming in was homey and cozy. Iluma offers two shalas over two floors, and a practice that feels inclusive and warm.
Not only does Iluma offer yoga, but also saunagus which is very popular in Copenhagen. The sauna is located in their courtyard, where they also have sessions for queers, women and Flinta* (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Transgender, and Agender). On top of this Iluma also has a “Kula program”, to where you can apply if you can’t afford the prices. Way to go, Iluma. Yoga and community should be accessible for everyone!

Rört, Thoravej 35, Nordvest
Just as the name suggests Rört (meaning touched or stirred) is a studio for movement with lots of yoga (and meditation) on the schedule. As a yogi who also enjoys dance, I tried the “Shake the dust” class, which is a movement class where you dance without any restrictions. The teacher Janni gives cues, “two steps and squat”-kind of cues, but the class feels very much like your time to move your body to music the way you want and need, and is a journey of both stillness and movement in an open-minded setting.
Rört also offers teacher training, organizes the festival Uberört, and rents out studio space for creatives.
Rama Reformer Club
Rama Reformer Club, Strandlodsvej 13Y, Amager
Rama reformer club is quite a new pilates studio in the newer area of Amager, close to the city center. The studio is small, fresh and elegant, and gives you the elevated boutique feeling. The studio has 8 reformer beds, and you’re taught by a pro who made all movements look very easy. After class you can get a matcha, which also feels very on brand for pilates girlies. My first class at Rama was also my first time trying reformer pilates ever, and it was definitely a little tricky to wrap my head around the coordination and understand how the things moved, which was a fun challenge. I really recommend anyone who hasn’t tried reformer pilates to do so, it’s a fun experience and can be modified to your own level.
Dom & Camilla, Kailo
Kailo Yoga, Badstuestræde 11, Indre By
Kailo is the first studio I visited when I moved to Copenhagen and have been coming back to through the years. The owner Camilla studied fashion and you can see that in the aesthetics. Kailo has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you can enjoy tea and a small snack after your class. All classes are taught in English, the majority of the teachers are international, and the yogis are a mix. It’s a welcoming space with one shala and classes that allow for different levels to participate. They also host teacher trainings for future yoga teachers. All teachers have their unique style and personality; they are knowledgeable and are great at holding space.
The studio does not have showers. Bring your own mat or rent one.
Kailo Yoga is offering my readers a 15% discount on drop in’s and the 5 and 10 clip cards with the code ALEJANDRA15 - valid until December 31st 2025.
