Six aesthetic summer movies for daydreaming

These are the perfect hipster movies, but also the perfect movies to watch for that summer feeling where you wanna feel the warmth of beautiful surroundings, dream that you live on the Italian countryside, or get inspired by the costume (aka nice clothes).

Call me by your name

Romantic, cozy and steamy on the Italian countryside. Amazing decor and you might feel inspired to re-decorate your home with dark woods and flowers picked in the garden. Definitely a must.

Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley wearing a fantastic yellow shirt.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

Not as good as “Call me by your name”, but has its similarities. Jude Law looks amazingly hot, great costume, and beautiful surroundings. Reminds me of the book The secret history by Donna Tartt.

Under the Tuscan sun

To be completely honest with you, this movie isn’t a good movie, but it’s cute, a little stupid but still worth seeing to dream you had the chance to leave everything and create a new life for a moment.

Midnight in Paris

Woody Allen might be problematic, but he’s great at creating lovely portraits of cities. This movie takes us to Paris and makes, at least me, wish I could travel back in time to France in the ’20s .

Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona

Another amazing portrait of a city. This one has more stereotypical characters, but it’s hot, dramatic and quite sexy, and you will definitely want to sit at a bar drinking red wine and let circumstances take you to new places.

Kirsten Dunst as one of the sisters in The Virgin Suicides.

The Virgin Suicides

One of my all-time favourite movies. A dark story portrayed in sunlight with lots of great outfits, top cast and definitely a dreamy sad summer vibe.
