The best (vegan friendly) restaurants in Copenhagen in 2024

Copenhagen is known for the vibrant food scene and Michelin restaurants, but as more and more eat plant-based I found the need to compile a list of vegan friendly restaurants. These are places that aren’t necessarily vegan restaurants, but that I, personally, really recommend for a party including vegans like myself. Don’t forget to make a note about your diet when you make the reservation.

Ark, Nørre Farimagsgade 63

Looking for a very elegant plant-based fine-dining restaurant in Copenhagen? Ark is classy and creative and offers an exciting experience. Whether you’re vegan or not; You’ll be amazed. Has a Green Michelin star.

Donda, Strandgade 20

Latin American flavours beautifully put together in a modern fusion menu; Donda is one of my favourite restaurants – all time. Donda is a fish restaurants, but makes delicious vegan options when they know it in advance. My warmest recommendations.

Jah Izakaya & Sake bar, Gasværksvej 21

Do you want to eat fantastic Japanese food, in a minimalist restaurant while soft reggae music comes from the speakers? Jag Izakaya is a warm and welcoming restaurant where the dishes are beautifully composed to please both your eyes and your tastebuds. Has many different vegan options and is nice for a date night.

At Jah Izakaya on date night.

Slurp Ramen Joint, Nansensgade 90

Really good ramen in the middle of the city in Copenhagen. Vegan alternative, yummy, warming, fun – everything you need when you crave ramen.

Goldfinch, Kongens Nytorv 8

This is a quite sexy restaurant; The light is dimmed, the interiors feel luxurious and dreamy and the food is to die for. After visiting Goldfinch the first time, we couldn’t stop talking about the vegan aubergine dish – so that’s something you must try.

Ranees, Blågårds Plads 10

When all you need is comfort food, a kind atmosphere and a place that feels like eating at your best friend’s mom’s place: Ranees. Authentic Thai food, a small selection of great wines (natural of course) and good vibes.

Kona, Bag Elefanterne 15

When at Kona I suggest you sit around the counter and watch the chef prepare your meal, while you snack on their delicious Japanese pickles and sip on a sake. Fantastic food and modern vibes for all ramen lovers. And yes, I was serious about the pickles.
